PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria City/County Health Department Wednesday reported 212 new cases of COVID-19 throughout the tri-county of Peoria, Woodford and Tazewell.
In addition, six deaths were also reported.
Two deaths were Peoria County residents: a male in his 50s with comorbidities and a male in his 80s.
The other four deaths were in Tazewell County: two males in their 70s, a male in his 90s and a female in her 80s.
Region 2, the region that encompasses the tri-county area, continues to meet all necessary requirements to move into Tier 2 mitigations by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).
The region has had 11 consecutive days below the 12% rolling seven-day test positivity threshold.
The region has also seen a decrease for 10 straight days of hospitalized COVID-19 patients.
ICU bed capacity and med/surg capacity have both remained over 20% capacity for 11 consecutive days.
