MORTON, Ill. – A nursing home in Morton has been fined by the state after a resident somehow got out and was found later near Interstate 155.
A report from the Illinois Department of Public Health says Aperion Care has been fined at least $25,000 for the incident involving its Morton Villa facility.
A resident there allegedly got out and was later found on a concrete barrier near an exit ramp on I-155 last August 25th.
He allegedly left again the next day but got no farther than the parking lot.
The man reportedly had mental health issues that were being treated.
