PEORIA, Ill. – Not guilty.
That’s the plea Aaron Rossi, 39, entered in a Peoria federal courtroom Thursday afternoon.
Rossi faces three counts of Making and Subscribing a False Tax Return.
The Reditus Labs CEO allegedly didn’t report all his income for the 2015 through 2017 calendar years.
A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for May 17th, with a trial potentially beginning June sixth in the Quad Cities portion of the Central District. It’s temporarily been holding proceedings at a federal courthouse in Davenport, Iowa, because of the condition of the Rock Island federal courthouse.
Rossi also faces a lawsuit involving his former business partner filed in Tazewell County, for allegedly misusing state COVID-19 testing money.
According to 25 News, among the requirements for Rossi to remain out of custody:
Mandatory conditions:
- Not commit crimes
- Must submit to a DNA sample
- No changing of his telephone number or address
- Must appear at court proceedings
- Must sign to acknowledge the bond conditions
Additional conditions:
- Must be in contact with the US Probation Office
- Must surrender any passports and travel documents
- No traveling outside of the Central District of Illinois
- Cannot use or possess any narcotics
- Must submit to drug testing
- Must report any contact with law enforcement to the court
- Cannot open any lines of credit or loans
- Cannot liquidate any assets
