PEORIA, Ill. – A shooting reported Saturday evening in Peoria has turned deadly, and may now be the city’s second homicide of the year.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says Davion Parker, 18, was pronounced brain dead Thursday afternoon at a local hospital, despite what Harwood called “aggressive and heroic efforts” to save him.
The shooting happened just before 7 p.m. Saturday in the area of Lexington Hills apartments. Police say a vehicle parked in the middle of the road had a man now identified as Parker inside.
Police still have not said if there are any suspects. If you have any information regarding this incident or any violent crimes, please contact the Peoria Police Department at (309) 673-4521, tip411 (anonymously), or Crime Stoppers (anonymously) at (309) 673-9000.
