PEORIA HEIGHTS, Ill. – A group of storage units were damaged by a fire Monday afternoon in Peoria Heights.
The fire happened just before 2:30 p.m. at storage units along East Marietta Avenue.
Officials say two storage units on the west side of the complex had fire coming from them. All told, six units ended up suffering flame and smoke damage, while a few other units had smoke damage.
The department says one person was injured and taken to a Peoria hospital. That person’s condition was not available Monday night.
The cause of the fire that West Peoria and Chillicothe fires also responded to, remains under investigation.
