PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria firefighters battled a blaze at a vacant home early Sunday morning.
The fire was called in at around 2:30 A.M. in the area of Monroe and Evans Streets.
Firefighters arrived to see heavy smoke coming from the second floor and roof of the building.
They then discovered the fire spread to the attic of the building.
Several fire companies arrived to put out the fire, as well as pull the ceiling for ventilation.
No one was found inside the building, and no injuries were reported.
Damage is estimated at around $50,000.
