PEORIA, Ill. – If you think gas prices in the Peoria area are a bit too much to handle, it could always be worse.
GasBuddy.com says when figuring out its weekly Illinois gas price average this week, there was a $1.91 spread between lowest price and highest. Their state average gas price is at $3.86 a gallon, down a dime from the week before, with the highest price for a gallon of unleaded in the state being at $5.09.
Gas prices don’t vary quite that much in the Peoria area. Gas Buddy says the local average is $3.60, down more than four cents from the week before. The gas price spread here is between $3.29 and $3.89
AAA, meanwhile, says its Peoria-Pekin metro average is $3.64 – down about three cents from the week before.
Gas price averages in the state declined despite an increase in the state gasoline tax Saturday by 3.1 cents.
