PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria restaurant ended up on fire Saturday.
That’s according to Peoria Fire Department officials, who say the fire at Perkins only caused about $5,000 in damages.
Firefighters were called to the restaurant off West War Memorial Drive on a report of a fire in a wall.
Crews first saw some light smoke in the dining room area, later finding the fire in a small area of wood that was smoldering.
The cause: officials say it was a discarded cigarette that had been put out outside the restaurant.
No one was hurt.
