LINCOLN, Ill. – Your results may vary, but it’s possible there’s more snow on the ground than you anticipated.
The National Weather Service says on average, the first measurable snowfall in Peoria is November 26th, and that certainly was the case Sunday morning.
Forecasters say based on reports submitted to them, most of the Peoria area received between three and four inches of snow. Areas like Germantown Hills and Mapleton, however, received two and a half inches of snow.
Forecasters had said between two and three inches would fall in this area. A Winter Weather Advisory was in effect until noon Sunday.
More light snow is expected to fall at least through early afternoon, before skies clear Sunday night.
