PEORIA, Ill. – They’re almost half-way there.
With the Peoria Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle campaign coming to an end on Friday, officials say they’re at 40 percent of their overall two-point-two million dollar fundraising goal for the overall “Tree of Lights” campaign.
Help is still needed in the final days of bell ringing.
“I would encourage you to be generous with your time,” said Major Health Sells, Salvation Army Commander, to 25 News. “I know there’s a lot that calls for it during this time…[it] takes just two hours of your time to help those in need right here in Central Illinois.”
Sells tells 25 News they have had plenty of help with bell-ringing, but can always use more. CLICK HERE to sign up.
Meanwhile, the Salvation Army’s Christmas Food Box distribution and Toy Shop, for those who registered, is Tuesday at Northwood Mall in the former Round 1 location.
