PEORIA, Ill – Peoria Public Schools highlighted diversity by inviting teachers to share their cultures with students.
District 150’s second annual Multicultural Fair took place Saturday from the terrace at the Peoria Riverfront Museum.
This year’s event attracted 177 teachers from 16 different countries. Through art, dance and information the educators helped student learn about the world.
“A lot of kids, especially here in Peoria, they’ve not seen anything outside of the area,” event organizer BreAjia Bryant told 25 News. “So, for them to kind of be able to explore the world without leaving their home or leave their classroom is really a great opportunity.”
The students were also able to enjoy face painting, bouncy houses and free food.
