PEORIA, Ill. – A teenager allegedly connected to a violent street gang has been indicted by a Peoria County grand jury.
17-year-old Skylar Jordan was indicted Tuesday for Unlawful Use of Weapons, as well as violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says Jordan’s the third juvenile to have his case transferred to adult court under the RICO statute, with the transfer granted earlier this month.
Prosecutors say Jordan is allegedly involved with the street gang known as the “Snakes.”
In October, Peoria County prosecutors say Jordan was charged with First Degree Murder as part of charges against ten people for their role in the Snakes.
The Snakes are alleged to be linked to at least three murders and 12 shootings, With members’ ages ranging from 16 to 22 years old.
