CREVE COEUR, Ill. – Firefighters were called to a Creve Coeur home Sunday morning for a fire that displaced two people and their pets.
Creve Coeur Fire Chief Roger Ristow said his department received a call from the area of Margaret Drive and Hollywood Circle just after 9 a.m.
The fire apparently started in the living room, but there was heat and smoke damage throughout the home.
The residents and two dogs were not injured, but the American Red Cross was called to help them with temporary housing.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Fire departments from East Peoria, Marquette Heights and North Pekin responded to the mutual aid call to help Creve Coeur firefighters.
Estimated damage to the home was not released.
