PEORIA HEIGHTS, Ill. – Bark in the Park returns to Tower Park in Peoria Heights this weekend.
Peoria Humane Society’s Kitty Yanko says the event, back for a 29th year, has plenty of fun activities for you and your pet.
“The Mutt Show is at 11:30, the kids’ walks are running through the whole event, and the parade is at 12:30. So, if you want to show up for something cool, come at one of those times to help out and have fun,” Yanko says.
She tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan” that Bark in the Park is the Humane Society’s biggest fundraiser of the year. The annual event helps provide life-saving care for animals in need, it promotes pet adoption, and raises awareness about pet overpopulation.
Even if you don’t bring a pet, there’s plenty of things to do.
“We’ve got raffle baskets…we have a cash raffle drawing. We have a cake walk, pawprint painting, there’s activities for kids, literally something for everyone,” Yanko says.
Bark in the Park, at Tower Park, runs Saturday from 10-2.
