PEORIA, Ill. – Three teenage boys were arrested after a man was shot in the head in South Peoria on Sunday afternoon.
Peoria Police says 15 shots were fired just before 1:30 P.M. in the area of Antoinette and Westmoreland.
Police say a 22-year-old male was reportedly shot in the head while riding a bicycle, and was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers then learned that several juveniles had run into a nearby house, and a search warrant was executed at the house.
Police reportedly found multiple firearms in the house, with one reported stolen. Two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old were taken into custody and questioned by police.
They were charged with Possession of a Weapon Under 21, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, then taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth said at 1:26 p.m., officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Peoria Police were still on the scene hours later for an investigation. There were reports of a standoff with police at the scene, but that was not confirmed as of Sunday evening.
Police have no suspects at this time.
More information will likely be released once the investigation is completed.
