How was growing up in your house different than now? There was a survey done that looked at the most common “rules of the house” we had growing up. How many rules did your parents make you follow? Most for me are “on point”. I grew up in a small town and we had (and still do) a 12 noon and 9:00pm whistle the go’s off. I played outside alot so when it got dark I either had to be home when the whistle blew or when the street lights came on. Ahh the good old days 🙂 Some other rules mom had for us kids were that you can’t play until you finish your homework. No TV until homework is done. You can’t leave the table until you eat all your vegetables. No sweets until after dinner. Finish everything on your plate even if you don’t like it (I hated Liver & Onion nights!) You can’t do anything fun until your chores are finished. There’s just a few. So do you relate? I carried some of those traits with me and passed them on the my kids as well. It’s not all bad though. 🙂
