PEORIA, Ill. – A fire at one Peoria grocery store did cause some damage, but also kept shoppers out of the store for as much as five hours Monday.
Peoria Firefighters say two different electrical panels at the Hy-Vee at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie had smoke coming from them around 7:30 a. m.
No one was hurt, but crews stayed on scene for several hours, shutting down power to the whole store and keeping things from getting worse.
Damage was estimated at only $5,000.
