PEORIA, Ill. – Unless you were up very early Friday, or out very late, you probably didn’t even get a chance to bid bon voyage.
25 News reports what probably will now be the former “Spirit of Peoria” riverboat made its way down the Illinois River Friday morning on what was its final trip.
The boat has been sold to a Florida company, and last month, the Peoria City Council waived a right to buy the boat, after a lease with the city expired.
25 News made the discovery through one of its weather cameras looking into downtown Peoria and the river. It appeared the trip started around 4:00 a.m.
