BELLEVUE, Ill. – Two Peoria-area residents are out of jail after being arrested last week on drug and child endangerment charges.
The Peoria County Sheriffs Department says deputies were called Friday morning to a manufactured home community near Blunt Street and Amy Drive in Bellevue, after children could be heard screaming.
A three-year-old boy was found walking down the middle of the street, while a one-year-old girl was found inbetween two other homes.
Cedricka Gibson, 31. who had been sleeping, claimed she didn’t know the children were there, and were supposed to be with 32-year-old Darius Tipton’s mother, after the two had spent a full night drinking.
Deputies say they found cash, crack cocaine, and cannabis in Tipton’s clothes. The locked bedroom Tipton and Gibson were sleeping in allegedly smelled of alcohol and cannabis when the deputies entered.
Gibson and Tipton face two counts each of Child Endangerment, while Tipton also faces a pair of drug possession charges. The children are now in the custody of Gibson’s mother.
