CHICAGO, Ill. (Fox News) — It was another weekend of deadly gun violence in the Windy City, with at least 40 people shot and 5 killed in shootings across the city. At least 3 teenagers were among those shot — one of them died at the hospital.
A shooting in the upscale Lincoln Park neighborhood on Saturday morning injured 5 people right outside the grounds of the famous Lincoln Park Zoo. And in the nearby suburb of Willowbrook, 22 people were shot and at least one died after a fight erupted at a massive Juneteenth party.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson did not address the weekend violence in a series of twitter posts celebrating Father’s Day on Sunday, which included a message saying, “Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers across the city. May you all get to enjoy some time with your kids and families today!”
