PEORIA, Ill. – A coffee shop will replace a recently-closed coffee shop in downtown Peoria.
Ty Paluska, one of the founders of thirty-thirty coffee downtown, says he’s taken over the space in the Kickapoo Building, and will open “Intuition Coffee + Juice” there next month.
Paluskla spent the last seven years in Idaho working in part for a wholesale coffee roaster, and was recently contacted by the Jumer family asking if he wanted to open a coffee shop in their space, and jumped on it.
“Intuition’s main focus will not just be to provide the best coffee in town, but there will be a strong
emphasis given to sustainability, hospitality, wellness, and community,” said Paluska, in a news release. “The added component of cold-pressed juice, fresh fruit smoothies, and healthy food options will help separate them from their competition.”
Intuition will feature coffee, juices, pastries, other food items, and wholesale coffee and organic tea.
Paluska will operate the business with his wife, Kami.
And yes, Paluska says, the famous bear from the old Jumer’s hotel will still be on display.
There are also plans for expanding the shop over the next couple years.
