PEORIA, Ill. – He apparently had a change of heart.
After retiring from the ice last year and becoming an Associate Head Coach of the Peoria Rivermen, the team says Alec Hagaman will instead step down from that role and play one final season.
The team says Hagaman made that decision after he and his family determined they would be moving back to Wisconsin after this season to be closer to family.
Hagaman played eight out of nine seasons with the Rivermen before this season, and is the only player in Southern Professional Hockey League industry to have more than 400 points while playing in more than 400 games.
A former Rivermen goaltender, Eric Levine, will instead become Assistant Coach.
