METAMORA, Ill. – Germantown Hills native and Metamora High School grad Anna Peplowki has been selected to the U.S. Olympic Swim Team for this year’s game in Paris.
Peplowski, a senior at Indiana University, will be an alternate for the 4x200m freestyle relay, according to usaswimming.org.
Indiana University Athletics, in a news release posted on its website, said Peplowski finished fifth in the 200-meter freestyle on Monday. She did not meet the criteria for immediate selection to the team (event win or top-four finish in 100m or 200m free) and had to wait for her selection as USA Swimming filled out its 26-man rosters.

Peplowski made the USA Swimming National Team for a second year in a row after participating at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka last summer. Peplowski medaled as a member of a relay team.
Indiana University Athletics said Peplowski is fresh from a record-breaking collegiate season. As a junior, Peplowski medaled twice at the NCAA Championships, finishing second in the 200-yard freestyle and third in the 500-yard freestyle. Over the season, she broke program records in 100-yard free, 200-yard free, 500-yard free, 200-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard freestyle relay and 200-meter freestyle. She helped lead the IU women to a Big Ten title In February, their first since 2019.
