PEORIA, Ill. – One suspect has been arrested in connection an alleged armed robbery and car theft,. And, it’s believed the suspect may be connected to a similar incident in Bloomington.
State Police tell 25 News following the report of a theft of a Corvette around 1:40 p.m. Saturday from AutoHaus of Peoria in the 2300 block of Van Winkle Way, troopers were able locate the vehicle.
As they attempted a traffic stop the suspect sped off, initiating a chase that ended on I-155 near Hartsburg in Logan County.
The suspect’s identity has not been released.
Bloomington police are investigating whether this incident is connected to the theft of a Camaro from a dealership near the corner of Morrisey Drive and Veterans Parkway.
Police say a suspect in that incident went for a test drive around 1:15 p.m. Friday, implied he had a gun and demanded the salesperson get out of the car.
The salesperson was not injured and the car has not been recovered.
