PEORIA, Ill.- A plan to offer free tuition to some Peoria Public Schools students will be revisited by the school board Monday.
The proposal is to offer free tuition to students of PPS employees who live outside of the district.
The board considered the plan in January, but it did not move forward because of a deadlocked vote of 3-to-3 with one abstention.
Currently, students of employees who live outside district boundaries are charged a 45 percent reduction in tuition.
The administration, in a memo to board members, said the plan would help District 150 attract and retain teachers.
