BARTONVILLE, Ill. – A Bartonville school district is getting a later than planned start to the school year.
In an announcement on Friday, the district announced that the first day for students will now take place on August 20th, one week later than originally scheduled.
The district only has one building, Oak Grove School. The district says the delay is due to a power shutdown, where crews will complete a power conversion to a new electrical transformer. Other site-wide facility improvements will take place.
While the school year will be pushed back a week, registration day is still planned for July 29th.
