PEORIA HEIGHTS, Ill. – A fire in Peoria Heights left one person displaced Sunday afternoon, but no one was hurt.
Firefighters got to the home on East Highland Place around 12:50 p.m., finding smoke and flames coming from the front door. They were able to stop the fire from spreading into the attic.
The home was unoccupied. Peoria crews assisted the Peoria Heights Fire Department in fighting the fire.
Damage was estimated at $15,000. Investigators say faulty wiring in an outlet was to blame.
