Applications still being accepted for Peoria Public Works “Paint-A-Plow” program

PEORIA, Ill. – Colorful snow plows will help clear Peoria’s streets again this winter.

Friday is the deadline to submit an application to take part in the city’s “Paint-a-Plow” program.

Public Works’ Nick McMillion tells WMBD’s “The Phil Luciano Show” that the decorated plows can be a great billboard for a local organization.

“Our drivers will be out running their routes with the plows, so you’ll see the plows out and about for probably about a month beforehand,” McMillion said.  “We always pick one and put them on the plow trucks when we’re in the Santa Claus Parade.”

McMillion says local schools, PCAPS, EPIC, and CWTC are organizations that usually paint a plow.

He says there are potentially four left to be painted for this year out of the total fleet of nearly 20.
