PEORIA, Ill. (25 News) – A man accused of sex crimes against a 13-year-old has had his trial continued to the end of October.
Alfred Cohoon appeared for a scheduling conference in the Peoria County Courthouse Thursday morning, requesting a continuance for addition time to view sensitive discovery in the state’s attorney’s office.
His jury trial is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. Oct. 29.
Cohoon faces charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and child sex abuse material. These charges come after an investigations which alleges that Cohoon had sexual acts with a 13-year-old girl.
The investigation started on March 2, when officers heard of an inappropriate video being shared among students at a local school. The video involved an older man, later identified as Cohoon and the 13-year-old.
