PEORIA, Ill. (25News Now) – As we near the holiday season, preparations are now underway for South Side Mission’s annual Holiday Meal ministry ahead of Thanksgiving.
Now in its 55th year, the meal ministry will delivery to residents in Peoria, Peoria Heights, Bartonville and a few surrounding areas including senior housing complexes.
Meal sign up has started. Those in need of meals can sign up by calling the Mission at 309-676-4604 Monday through Friday or register online. There is a limit of 10 meals per household. Meal sign up will close November 19th.
“We are looking forward to another season of preparing and delivering holiday meals to those in need in Peoria and surrounding communities.” said Rev. Craig Williams, Executive Director of South Side Mission.
This initiative is made successful through the support of volunteers. Volunteers assist with meal prep, packaging, delivery and service during the week of and on Thanksgiving day.
“We thank God for our many wonderful volunteers who make it possible,” said Rev. Craig Williams, Executive Director of South Side Mission.
Those interested in volunteering can sign up online. On Thanksgiving Day volunteers will receive refreshments, music and entertainment from The Unique Twist and Twisting Crew.
