PEORIA, Ill. (25News) – Bradley University is hosting a local TEDx event this Wednesday, Sept. 30 focused on artificial intelligence.
Leaders and community members will explore how artificial intelligence reshapes leadership, collaboration, and everyday life, including how to harness the technology as a tool for good while protecting against misinformation.
The event has a unique atmosphere, said Economics Professor Joshua Lewer, interim dean of the Foster College of Business and Caterpillar Collee of Engineering and Technology.
“At TED, it’s like going to the Masters golf tournament. Everyone turns off their phones and you’re there for two hours to be a part of it. And I ask everyone that comes to TEDx on Wednesday to just be ready to listen and to have their mind and heart open to new ideas,” Lewer said.
The event will feature six speakers from Bradley University and organizations across central Illinois and beyond. They include PsychSensei founder and CEO Ryan Terao; OSF Senior Vice President of Innovation and Transformation Becky Buchen; Bradley Director of Choral Activities and Music Education Cory Boulton; Kern Family Foundation KEEN Program Director Ranen McLanahan; Bradley electrical engineering student Injy Wasfy; and Caterpillar Director of Artificial Intelligence Product Management Charlie Wood.
The event runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bradley University and is open to the entire community. Student tickets are $5, and non-student tickets are $30.
